Dynamite Australia Day - Biggest reggae dance of the year
January 19th 2007 03:11
Despite there being a weekend in between now and Australia Day, I thought I would give everyone plenty of time to prepare for what is set to be the biggest original reggae and ska dance of the year in Sydney so far.
The date, being Australia Day and all, is January 26th, which is next Friday. It will kick off at 9 pm and will be at Spectrum. Spectrum is on the city end of Oxford St, Darlinghurst (or Surry Hills) really.
Dynamite's previous nights have seen been at a packed and heaving Brighton Bar, but for the big day they are moving to Spectrum, which can fit a fair few more people. The music will be a mix early ska, rocksteady and reggae with a touch of soul, funk and dub.
I'll be on the wheels of steel for a set, playing mostly rocksteady, skinhead reggae and some ska. The night will stop when there is no-one left dancing, so get along for a big night.
