Lee Perry Australian tour
March 26th 2007 07:22
Although his last tour was meant to be his last trip to Australia, Lee Perry is back with some dates, including a spot on the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival in Byron Bay. As is the norm with these festival performers, Lee Perry is also playing sideshows in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
Whatever you think of Lee Perry's current performances, the man has to be applauded for his contributions to reggae. He is one of the greatest reggae producers and although I don't personally like too many of his own songs, many will be excited to see Perry again or for the first time.
$66 for a ticket seems quite high, though I suppose not if you compare it to others such as Jimmy Cliff who was asking for a $100. Firehouse and Basslines crew are supporting him in Sydney. Good to see Firehouse doing something since their regular night at the Marquee is no longer.
