Books with reggae references

I didn't really have a clear idea what I would blog today, I am listening to the cricket rather than reggae, so I have struggled a little with what to come up with.
I got to thinking about what I have been reading lately though and how they include references to reggae. They are English books, so of course it isn't so unusual that they contain references to reggae, but because I do really like Jamaican music, when I come across these references my interest in what I am reading tends to pick up.
The book I am reading at the moment is Football Factory, which I think is a lousy novel, despite many people liking it. I haven't finished it, but read most of it and it's just not much chop. There isn't really a story line, just incidents placed together. I have more criticisms, but this isn't mean to be a book review. In the latest bit though, there is a bit about skinheads and the whole Oi versus reggae loving types. Not a whole lot, and it has no significance, but it was there.
Another book I read recently was Hi-Fidelity, which was fantastic. Wonderful. Nick Hornby is a most entertaining writer. With the main man working in a record shop, we get John Holt and Madness references and it just adds to my total enjoyment of this book. I borrowed my copy off someone and can't find it. Oops. In the top 5 books I've read? Perhaps.
I am hoping tomorrow is a much better blog!
