Universal to buy Sanctuary and therefore Trojan

Just browsing the Trojan website forum and there's a thread about an article telling of the imminent sale of Sanctuary music group to Universal. Sanctuary acquired the famous UK reggae label Trojan some time ago.

Apparently Universal are buying it for their live music agency because that is where the money is. This has led to suggestions that Trojan is of little interest in the purchase and therefore could be sold off, but we will have to wait to find out.
With the purchase of Sanctuary comes a huge amount of debt, suggesting that there is little money in traditional music sales, though I am sure some will argue against that.
I haven't bought that much Trojan stuff lately, but I do hope they keep releasing stuff, including vinyl reissues, because when funds are more plentiful there are some items I intend to pick up.
It will be an interesting period ahead as we watch how things develop for the label synonymous with Jamaican music.
